About Us
David Gill is a
working farrier with over thirty years of practical
experience.
While working with master farrier Sandy Duff FWCF he became a
registered farrier in 1975 and gained his associateship in
1977. Since then he has continued to run his own private
practice.
David’s passion and interest in his profession has been
a constant. While continuing to expand his own knowledge base,
he has also been a regular contributor to the farrier’s trade
magazine FORGE, written a column for Equestrian Life and given
numerous talks to students and interested horse-owners. In
2001, he presented his thoughts and observations to
veterinarians and farriers alike at the 1st UK FARRIERY
CONVENTION and in 2002 was presented with an award from the
Worshipful Company of Farriers for the best farriery article
to appear in FORGE.
Back of the beating hammer by which the
steel is wrought,
Back of the workshops clamour, the seeker may find a thought:
The thought that is ever master of iron and steam and steel,
That rises above disaster and tramples it under heel.
Back of them stands the schemer – the Thinker – who drives
things through,
Back of the job the Dreamer who’s making the dream come true.
